The artist states:
"I choose iconographic images, shapes and colors in response to information I gather from media sources as well as direct experiences.
I use a variety of painterly gestures juxtaposed with strongly graphic forms rendered in layers. I often choose particularly related groups of colors before I begin to work and elaborate on those as the art work progresses. Cheerfully apocalyptic, the work is intended to simultaneously attract and repel, blending beauty and toxicity, as in the supersaturated colors of a smoggy sunset."
